San Agustín Beach is a true treasure located on the southern coast of Gran Canaria. Size-wise, it's pretty cozy, stretching about 670 meters long, which means there's plenty of room to stretch out without getting too crowded. The dark, volcanic sand gives it a unique charm compared to the typical white-sand beaches you might be used to.

The calm waters make it an ideal spot for taking a dip or simply floating around to your heart's content. Plus, those gentle waves are a hit with kids and anyone who's not into the rough-and-tumble surf.

Facilities Galore – Everything You Need

One of the things I absolutely loved about San Agustín Beach is how well it caters to visitors. There are plenty of sunbeds and parasols available for rent, perfect for when you need a break from the sun but don't want to leave the beach. The promenade running along the beach is dotted with cafes, bars, and restaurants, perfect for grabbing a quick snack or a leisurely meal with a view. Oh, and the fresh seafood? Absolutely to die for.

Restrooms and showers are conveniently located, which means you can rinse off that saltwater and sand before heading off to explore more. And if you're like me and always forget something essential, there are small shops nearby that stock all your beach day needs.

Getting There – Easy Peasy

San Agustín Beach is super accessible whether you're driving or using public transport. If you're coming from the airport, it's only about a 25-minute drive. Simply hop on the GC-1, and you'll be there before you know it.

Prefer public transport? No worries! The island's bus service, known as "Global", is efficient and affordable. Catch the number 30 bus from Las Palmas, or the number 66 from the airport. Both will drop you off just a short walk from the beach.
